Our mission is captured by our transformative initiative - 1stNeighborhood. This program, inspired by the principles of a Community Development Corporation (CDC), was founded during the creation of the Vistula neighborhood Master Plan. We aim to go beyond preservation and enter an era of activation where the historical integrity of Vistula meets the modern needs and aspirations of our community.

Riverfront Integration

Shifting the riverfront from an industrial space into a vibrant, accessible public area integrated seamlessly into the neighborhood fabric. Our focus lies in creating opportunities for recreation, public gatherings, and community events while enhancing the neighborhood's scenic appeal and ecological diversity.

Housing Security

Advocating for secure, affordable housing to ensure that no resident faces displacement and maintaining the unique historic character of the residential area. This involves supporting residents in home ownership, offering assistance for housing repair and maintenance, and advocating for policies that protect resident rights.

Community Engagement and Representation

Encouraging active participation of residents in community decision-making processes and local activities. This includes organizing cultural events, community meetings, workshops, and programs that foster a strong sense of community and belonging.
